Our city’s shared plan to tackle climate change

Greater Manchester Green Summit - Tameside Listening Workshop

Thursday, February 22, 2018 - 10:00 to 11:30
Dukinfield Town Hall

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) under the leadership of Mayor Andy Burnham is developing a goal of becoming a zero-carbon city. The GMCA wants to engage with citizens, community stakeholders and businesses to help tackle the challenges in reaching this goal focusing on issues such as energy, culture, food, nature, education and transport. The Mayor’s Green Summit to be held in March will start to build and put forward a new environmental vision for Greater Manchester

Leading up to the Green Summit itself, a series of ‘Listening Events’ have been planned to provide a further opportunity to have your say and participate in the process. Attending the listening event for Tameside will be an opportunity to share your views, opinions and perspectives on how Greater Manchester can and should meet the challenges and achieve its goal. It’s an opportunity for you to share what you think is most important where you live or more widely and your ideas for the future.

The event will be facilitated, and your views and comments included in a report which will help to inform the main Green Summit and a resulting environmental charter.
