Manchester's Green Infrastructure Strategy won the coveted Knowledge Exchange Category at the prestigious Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) National Wards event in London. There was some tough competition from a very strong field including the freshwater pearl mussel project form Scotland - the Mollusc of the Glen.

Manchester also had two other brilliant projects highly commended by the judges, the citywide Clean Streams urban watercourse reclamation project in the stakeholder engagement category and the Bridgewater Basin Floating Ecosystems in the small conservation project category. This is a wonderful recognition on a national scale for the efforts that have gone into greening the city.

The Green Infrastructure Strategy continues to be used positively across the Manchester and ultimately contributes to the city's zero carbon target and create a climate resilient home for all. Download and read the Green Infrastucture Strategy and Action Plan below to learn more!
