Making homes warmer and lowering bills in Moss Side

Success story: Mosscare St Vincent’s

Residents in Moss Side are now benefitting from warmer homes, lower energy bills and a healthier, more comfortable environment thanks to a £3.3 million retrofit project by social landlord, Mosscare St Vincent’s.

Internal wall insulation and mechanical ventilation has been installed in 159 homes to reduced heat loss, minimise the risk of damp and mould, and improve the indoor air quality of older terraced homes in Moss Side, with 80 more homes to be completed by the end of March 2025.

Once complete, the project is expected to deliver an energy saving of 215 tonnes of CO2 a year.

Mosscare St Vincent’s is a Manchester Housing Providers Partnership member, part of Manchester Climate Change Partnership.
