MANCHESTER CLIMATE CHANGE YOUTH PARTNERSHIP

Manchester Climate Change Youth Partnership brings together 16 – 28-year-olds from across the city who are passionate about ensuring Manchester plays its full part in helping to tackle climate change.
The Youth Partnership is made up of:
Youth Board
The Youth Board sits on the Manchester Climate Change Partnership helping to ensure that both the Partnership and Agency are doing everything they can to tackle climate change in the city. It also takes an active role in steering the Youth Partnership and creating youth-led projects.
Youth Network
The Youth Network is an informal group who use a dedicated Slack channel to share and hear about training and skills development resources, job vacancies, chances to engage in Youth Partnership Projects, Youth Board openings, forthcoming events, and the latest climate-related news.
Together the Youth Board and Network undertake climate focussed projects that aim to connect young people, inform young people about climate change, provide a platform for sharing their collective voice with decision makers, and take action to their reduce carbon emissions.
As part of this, the Manchester Climate Change Youth Partnership has developed a Manifesto outlining their priorities for Manchester.
YOUTH BOARD MANIFESTO
The Manchester Climate Change Youth Board launched their Manifesto in 2021, outlining the steps they believe are necessary to achieve a just transition to a zero carbon city. The Manifesto consists of 7 priorities and 35 individual climate actions and is the first of its kind in Greater Manchester.
The Manifesto calls on individuals and organisations across Manchester – including businesses, public sector bodies, educational institutions, and community groups – to make climate action a central focus in their daily lives, activities, decision-making, and long-term plans.
