Low carbon new builds for Manchester’s residents

Success story: This City

  • 129 NEW LOW CARBON HOMES TO BE BUILT IN THE CITY

The No1 Ancoats Green scheme is a low carbon housing scheme by ‘This City’, a housing company wholly owned by Manchester City Council – a member of the Manchester Climate Change Partnership.

The scheme will deliver 129 new low carbon homes while bringing a long-term brownfield site back into use – including 119 apartments and 10 town houses.

The development includes a range of low carbon and low energy design principles which will reduce overall energy use by 75% compared to an average UK building and will also reduce living costs for residents.

Wider sustainability measures are also incorporated into the development, including the use of sustainable drainage measures, planting more than 80 trees, and reducing water demand.
