Prioritising low carbon commuting

Success story: Arup

Manchester Climate Change Partnership member, Arup, chose to remain in their office space in Manchester to maintain their excellent public transport links.

Arup’s Manchester office has the lowest commuting emissions of any Arup office in the UK which heavily influenced Arup’s decision to retrofit rather than relocate their Manchester office space.

As well as maintaining their strategic location to enable low-carbon commuting, Arup also showcased sustainable practices during the retrofit process, saving 91 kgCO2e by adopting circularity principles and reusing 70% of their existing furniture.
