TRAVEL

We're creating a cycling city

Station South - a destination cycle café, bicycle workshop and urban garden in Levenshulme - are providing a perfect pitstop for people to share, grow, fix and ride.

Station South have delivered 188 active travel workshops, and 1,285 people have taken part in their group cycle rides for all abilities, from family and beginner sessions all the way to paced distance events.

There are lots of ways that Manchester is stepping up for zero carbon already, but as a city we are not currently on track. It’s up to all of us to play our part to create a greener, fairer, healthier city where everyone can thrive.

STEP UP AND SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO

WHAT DOES ACTIVE TRAVEL MEAN?

Think cycling, walking, or using public transport! Active travel is all about getting places in an environmentally-friendly way and leaving the car at home.

HOW DOES ACTIVE TRAVEL HELP PEOPLE AND THE PLANET?

As well as reducing carbon emissions, active travel can save you money and contributes to a healthy lifestyle.

Choosing to leave the car at home has the added benefit of making our streets quieter, safer for everyone and helping to improve air quality.
